My spending ban update 2

Today is the 25th of January 2013, and that means it's been 25 days of buying no goodies for myself, no beauty related things, no fashion things such as clothes, no extra skincare stuff and no take out food. I'm quite proud of myself.

So let's take a look back on my week.

This week has been brilliant for saving because of the snow, i know, I've moaned a lot about it, but one good thing about it is, it's kept me snowed in and cosy, therefore i haven't really had the chance to be able to get to the shops and actually spend any money.

Saturday was a pretty quiet day with no spending, i did my weekly food shopping as I'm allowed, and spent no extra money on no extra bits. Sunday, we were literally snowed in as it snowed all day and i was not prepared to go out and about anywhere other then the garden to play a little. The weekdays go by pretty fast without too much spending, because, to be fair i finish work and just want to come home and snuggle into my onesie and hibernate again, as it is THAT cold at the moment.

I did spend a little money. However it was allowed as part of my rules.
On Wednesday i went to see my friend Demi, who is the girl who also does my nails, i hadn't seen her since before Christmas and i was in need of a catch up. While i was there, she also did my nails. They cost me £15 and this is the first time i have had them done in the new year. In my rules i did explain that i was allowing myself to have them done as they would cost £10 to remove in the shops and only £15 to re-do them, so i would rather spend the extra £5 and have fresh nails then waste £10 and come out of there with nothing. I also did state i hoped that i would only need to do them twice throughout my whole spending ban, this is coming from the girl who used to do her nails every 2 weeks without fail. So this is my first time this year so far, which means i managed to spend 23 days with one set of nails on. Usually i last 14 days, that's a total of 9 days extra, which is over a week with my nails on. For me, that's an achievement, even though it might not sound like anything major, I'm proud that i saved money in those 9 days! :)

There you have it, i really haven't spent money on anything i shouldn't have done, £15 was the total for this week, and it was on something i had originally said i was able to spend money on in my rules. It has been killing me as I'm dying to buy a new iPhone case from Ebay, simply because they are cheaper, and I've seen the dream one i want and i just cant buy it, also Watsapp the app for talking through my iPhone is 69p (which to me, is a pathetic little sum, but i am determined to stick to my rules..) and so i haven't been able to purchase that either, as my rules clearly stated no mobile apps allowed. I miss Watsapp, Way did you have to change from free to paid! :(

I have to say, this spending ban is quiet a challenge, but i am enjoying doing it, its helping me to save and making my house less cluttered with stuff i do not need at the moment. :)
I do think the fact i really haven't got enough money to be spending in the first place has had a huge impact on it though! At the moment I'm still paying off the stuff from the Christmas period, but once all that is all fully done and i have more loose change around that's when i think i will feel it more. The weather has helped me with my ban too, as I've turnt into a complete mole and i just want to sleep whenever i have free time, so that's brilliant.
I did however have my payday, which was the day i was most worried about, but i needn't be as it came and went with not a penny spent. Again, i think this has to do with the fact i actually haven't got enough money to be spending on things at the moment, as the bills come first until everything is paid off from Christmas.

I'm more worried for when everything is all paid off and i have money laying around again.

How has everyone else been getting on with theirs? Has anyone broke their rules yet and overspent?
